FOR EVERY AILMENT AND DISEASE, THE EARTH GIVES US AN HERB TO CURE IT

Children/ Baby Care and Mom , too.
Children's bodies are sensitive and respond naturally and quickly to the gentle, effective, healing energy of herbs. Administered wisely, herbs do not upset the delicate ecological balance of children's small bodies as does much of modern medicine. Instead, herbs work in harmony with the young child's system.

Herbs can be used with confidence for simple ailments such as colds, colic, and teething, as well as many common childhood illnesses. Herbs can also be used as supplements to our modern system of allopathic medicine when dealing with more complicated health problems. Herbs and orthodox medicine are not at odds, but are two systems of healing that can complement each other.

OLD-FASHIONED COLIC TECHNIQUES THAT STILL WORK

In the midst of a colic attack, there are a couple of old-fashioned and effective techniques to try.

* Place your baby in a warm chamomile or lavender bath.

*You may relax the child’s stomach muscles by placing a towel that was soaked in hot herb tea – such as chamomile or lavender – over the stomach area. Be certain the towel is adequately warm, but not hot.

* The combination of warm water and herbal essence will often be just what’s needed to stop the muscle spasm. A drop or two of lavender or chamomile essential oil in the bathwater or on the towel will often work wonders.

* Try some Fennel Tea, it is not only tasty but can relieve colic, improve digestion, and expel gas from the system.

And there is always the old reliable burping technique. Pad your shoulder and place the child’s head against it. Pat his or her back gently. Children seem to become hypnotized into forgetting the problem. What is really happening, of course, along with distracting the child from grief for a few moments, is that you are helping move the gas deposits along with a steady movement.
